Is European aviation on track to build back better after COVID-19?

Restrictions have eased across Europe, enabling airlines to restore capacity this summer to meet the considerable pent-up demand. But there’s still a long way to go for the sector, particularly for travel further afield, and with massive losses across all parts of the industry that will take years to recover from. And the challenge of aviation sustainability has become a pressing one, as the COP26 climate change summit has underlined.
